What’s your favorite word ??

(First published 10 months ago)

My post about favorite songs (Share your Melody) got really interesting replies, and I’m urging more people to share their views. But today I have a new question, one that I love asking people. I don’t know if any of you have ever given this a thought, but-

All of us have this one (or a few) favorite word(s). A word that tells our story. A word that perhaps no one else will know the significance of. Whenever this word is uttered, you stop for a second and THINK. Or maybe you just like the way it sounds on your lips, or the meaning of the word, or the fact that it is rarely used. Whatever the reason is, each of us have a story behind this word.

So think about it share your favorite word…I mean, really, leaving a comment is not going to hurt you…:-P

                                                                                                                                                                 Love,

thelonelybooklover

P.S.- I have two favorite words- memory and paramour…:-)

Love : What/ Who does that word make you think of?

Sounds so cheesy, right?? What can I say, I’m one of those girls. Those hopeless romantics who think that love is the solution to all problems. And if you are anything like me, then you get my question. Right? So who do you think of when you hear this insanely common, often misinterpreted, confusing word? Or what do you think is the meaning of “love”? Here are a few of the definitions of love I found lying around (Just for the fun of it) : So are you suffering from amor deliria nervosa?? (uh, it means love.. “Delirium” reference). Okay, so even if its not romantic love, it must remind you of SOMEONE?? Or atleast a word? A definition? A dream? Me and my comment box eagerly await your stories. ❤

Amy’s Questions:

1. Top 5 favorite books? (Because one just isn’t enough…)

  • My Sister’s Keeper (Jodi Picoult)
  • If you could see me now (Cecelia Ahern)
  • When It Rains (Lisa De Jong)
  • Gone Girl (Gillian Flynn)
  • Slammed (Colleen Hoover)

😦 But I missed so many books…

2. Do you prefer to be alone or around other people?

Depends. But mostly I prefer to be around other people. Not because I’m a very people’s person or an extrovert or anything, but because it helps me to camouflage myself, it saves me from my own thoughts sometimes. Okay, I think that was too deep..

3. Is there anything you do, like a hobby, purely because you love it?

Reading. Obviously. Its my lifeline.

4. If I were to give you £50, what would you spend it on?

Books!!!! There is NOTHING else I like to shop for.. Okay so maybe I’d spend SOME of the money on cold drinks…

5. Is there anyone that you miss?

Umm.. Errrr… Okay, there is this particular person I’ll always miss, although I don’t know why. Its not like I was ever there in his life in the first place. But…. my heart is just stupid, it doesn’t know how to take a hint.

6. Top 5 favourite songs? (Again, one just won’t do…)

  • Need You Now (Lady Antebellum)
  • The Only Exception (Paramore)
  • Fix You (Coldplay)
  • Teardrops On My Guitar (Taylor Swift)
  • Wake Me Up When September Ends (Green Day)

7. *Cliché* What do you want to ‘be’ when you’re older?

I WANT to be a librarian. Or a book reviewer (is that even a job??). But these are just impossible dreams. I’ll probably have some stupid boring job. *sigh*

8. What are your favourite names?

Great question!!!!

Delilah is my top favorite.. Then there’s Dare, Asher, Adele, Maya, Samantha or Sam, Finn… I find Indian names really complicated but Shruti is is a nice name..

9. At this precise moment, what’s most important in your life?

:-/ Sorry for the boring answer, but my class 12 final exams, getting into college…

10. Why did you begin blogging?

Spur of the moment decision 🙂 But mainly because I wanted to share my opinions about books. What a dumb answer *face-palm*

This or That Tag

Yes, this time I was tagged for real, that too because I badgered Bhramori at school until she tagged me. You can check out her post on this tag at thecrazyperfectionist. 🙂

1. Audio, ebook, or book in hand?

Although I mostly read ebooks, book in hand is always better.

2. Paperback or hardcover?

Paperbacks. They are more convenient and so much cheaper, to be honest.

3. Fiction or non-fiction?

Fiction. I can’t stand non-fiction. I read to get lost in a fictional world, not to face the real world again.

4. Fantasy or realistic?

Again, fantasy. Not that I don’t like realistic fiction. As long as its fictional.

5. Harry Potter or Twilight?

Twilight.

Just joking.

6. Borrow or buy?

Buy. If I had enough money.

7. Single or series?

Depends. For example, Harry Potter and Hunger Games were series. Again, The Fault In Our Stars and Eleanor And Park were standalones. So, both can be equally good.

8. Starry-eyed romance or full of action?

Starry-eyed romance. What can I say? I can be such a girl…

9.While reading: hot chocolate or latte?

None. I like having guavas when I read. I know, I’m weird.

10. Read the review or decide for yourself?

Reading the review just strengthens my determination to read a book.

Although I go around asking everyone to tag me, I myself have no one to tag. -_- But anyone who reads this is tagged, so go on, do it… 🙂
